    Provide advice at inception of project on project brief, budget and overall programme for development
  • Manage design development
  • Agree planning strategy and advise on need for reports, surveys and investigations needed for application
  • Manage process of planning application and liaise with planning authority
  • Manage detailed design process ensuring proposals in line with project budget
  • Provide information needed by other stakeholders such as funders in terms of cash flows, programmes etc
  • Advise on appointment of contractor and manage tender process including all necessary insurances and warranties required
  • Monitor progress on site and advise on progress against programme, report to project stakeholders, deal with all requests for payments, manage all change orders, witness testing and commissioning, ensure all documentation issued on completion, carry out inspections and coordinate handover.
  • Manage any defect rectification through post-completion phase

Background

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Glenn started his career working in private practice. Subsequently working for Lovell Construction before moving to Jackson Construction in Manchester and Alfred McAlpine as Regional Director in the North West. More recently he has led the Development and Investment business at the GB Group.

Glenn has a delivered numerous high profile schemes across a range of sectors including hotels, leisure, industrial units, residential, healthcare and education. He was responsible for the redevelopment of Chesterfield Football Club Stadium in 2010, adding considerable value to the deal by achieving planning permission for housing on the redundant football ground site. He has worked on many development/land led Housing and Care sites such as Astbury Mere Care home in Congleton for Cannon Capital, Tarporley residential scheme with Stewart Milne and Woodgate care home in Tonbridge for Abbeyfield.

With exceptional ability to appraise opportunities quickly, Glenn is conversant with all aspects of the development and construction process. He has an in-depth knowledge of the planning system, is able to identify strategies for success from the outset and manage risk. He has purchased numerous sites and has worked on several large, complex legal and funding agreements for both Hotel and Care Home developments. Brandon has worked for various Developers during his 20 years experience including Alfred McAlpine Special Projects and GB Development Solutions.

He has specific experience in the Hotel and Leisure sectors and has delivered numerous high profile schemes including the first Hilton Garden Inn in Luton and the Premier Inn in Sunderland.

With a particular flair for coordinating all aspects of a project, Brandon works from scheme inception compiling feasibilities and option appraisals. He has an enviable network of contacts in the Hotel sector and knows instinctively what sites and locations will be suitable for Hotel use. Widely recognised for his sector knowledge, Brandon is able to identify and work closely with Operators and organise property finance through to the onward sale of completed investments. He is interested in sustainable building solutions and has wide knowledge of modular systems used for speed of build and quality finish.

Background

A member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Stephen has worked for a number of Construction Companies since he graduated in the 1980’s with a degree in Building Technology. He worked at Alfred McAlpine as Project Manager before moving to the GB Group as Development Manager.

He has specific experience in the Residential, Hotel and Healthcare sectors and has successfully delivered the project management and technical expertise on schemes such as the Holiday Inn Express, Swindon and new care homes at Congleton, Horley and Stroud.

Stephen has an eye for detail and excellent organisation skills. He works with clients from the outset of a project, investigating technical constraints of sites, helping to de-risk the planning and development process. He builds strong, collaborative relationships with all professional advisors and has extensive experience selecting and appointing appropriate consultants and procuring contractors. As well as stakeholder consultation, Stephen manages cost and progress reporting on sites including cash flow projections and final account agreement. He has a passion for regeneration schemes and ensuring ecological issues on site are taken into account from the outset.
